Glue on shoes
Glue on shoes have been around for over a decade, but it's only in the last few years that this technology has really taken off. Today there are dozens of glue-on composite options for the farrier industry.
Two categories of glue on shoes are currently on offer.
Easy-Shoe Composite Glue Ons
This is our most popular shoe for recreational riding and all-season protection. It is also ideal for stimulating hoof growth, by promoting better blood circulation in the foot. The molded plastic shoe has a cuff or tabs that glue to the perimeter of the hoof wall. Several styles are available, based on your shoeing needs. This shoe style offers unparalleled shock absorption and protection for the foot. Think Reeboks for horses!
Sigafoo Cuff Shoe
This performance riding shoe is the gold standard for therapeutic and performance riding. It is comprised of an aluminum shoe which is affixed to the foot by glueing the bonded kevlar fabric cuff to the hoof wall perimeter. This shoe style preserves all the benefits of "conventional" shoes with the added benefit of no nails. This shoe is more expensive to apply, due to higher product cost.
NEW for 2025: The Easycare One
An upgrade from the Easyshoe Versa, the One has added frog support and improved versatility for use in muddy conditions and snow. It also has some built ins that make it easier to apply and grippier at staying on.
This shoe has a promising future at WMF- I am planning to shoe one of my own with a pair in a week or so, and it will be available for clients beginning mid-May.
The Easyshoe Versa, applied with two colors of glue.
The Sigafoo, applied with acrylic glue.
